*Dear Shri Kapil Sibal*,

As someone who openly opposed your election to the post of President of the SCBA, I write this letter to congratulate you on your victory, and to seek your support on two issues which are primordial so far as the bar is concerned. The first is the abolition of the near apartheid and elitism in the SC which is not possible unless the designation system is abolished. Secondly, the abolition of the collegium system which has led to nepotism and favouritism in the matter of appointments of judges to the High Courts and the Supreme Court.

I have been fighting for the said cause for the last two decades. Myself and several others have approached the Supreme Court seeking undoing of the grave malaises by constitutional and legal means. I am afraid to say that the Court failed to deal with it fairly.

I believe your support on these issues would have a difference.

Awaiting to hear from you.

With kind regards,

Yours Sincerely,

Mathews J. Nedumpara
